The Camp Sinoquipe team is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic, experienced Summer Camp Director to lead one of the region's premier Scouts BSA summer programs. Serving approximately 1,500 youth plus adult leaders each season, the Summer Camp Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of camp operations, staff leadership, program delivery, and camper safety.

This is a unique opportunity to create life-changing experiences while leading a team of 60+ seasonal staff members in a fun, outdoor environment.

This position includes pre-season planning and recruiting responsibilities beginning in January, followed by full-time onsite leadership during the summer camping season.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day camp operations and ensure a safe, positive camp environment.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a seasonal staff of approximately 50+ team members.
• Work with camp leadership to develop and deliver quality programs for Scouts.
• Manage camp administration, budgeting, purchasing, and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Scouting America standards, youth protection policies, and safety regulations.
• Serve as the primary liaison with camp staff, unit leaders, volunteers, and council leadership.

Compensation & Benefits

• Seasonal salary: $4,800-7,000, based on experience.

Commitment

• Pre-season planning: January-May (20+ hours per month paid).
• Full-time seasonal position: June 1-July 31
• Onsite residence required during camp operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 25 years.
• Leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Previous camp, recreation, outdoor education, or youth development experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with youth.
• Scouting experience preferred but not required.
